LJ, oh LJ
No, you Prison Breaky people, I'm not talking about THAT LJ. I'm actually really just talking about LiveJournal.

How the heck can any site be so difficult for me to figure out? :D It's not like I'm *that* stupid or somehow illiterate with computers. It's just getting silly... I use LJ so rarely, so that when I do, I'm always frowning of frustration trying to figure out how to do this and that. Luckily, I have some friends that can definitely be called LJ veterans, so there's always someone to run to.

I've been spending a lot of time reading PB fanfics and reviewing like a good reader. It's just amazing... if you want good fanfiction, you should definitely fall for PB. Believe me. There's just so much breathtakingly good fanfiction out there, it can make even me sit down, concentrate and just read. It's almost inspiring me to write, too. (God have mercy if that should happen...)

Did I already say that I'm head over heels in love with Prison Break?

Prison Break, anyone?

The only thing different this time when it comes to me fangirling, is that this time I actually went fangirlish at the same time with two IRL friends of mine. It's really silly. The other friend of mine has a summer job in her home town a few hundred kilometers away and we can't exactly fangirl all day long, we can't even really talk except through IMs - and lately, when we've been talking, the conversation has followed the lines:

Me: Hey! How are you doing, girl?
Her: Heya! I'm alright. I'm seeing Dominic Purcells everywhere. Even in people that don't look even distantly like him.
Me: !!
Her: Yeah, tell me about it...
Me: That's unfair, I keep trying to Dominic Purcells yet I'm not seeing them everywhere. Besides, shouldn't you be seeing Wentworths, or are have you finally realized the true nature of things and started turning to the Lincoln side of the Force?

I guess it's just a way of trying to divert ourselves from the boring everyday life... at least now we have something else to talk about than "I've been doing the laundry, going out with our dog, sorting our closets..." - "Yeah, I've been working on the graveyard, as you know. Such a great job..."

The other fangirl friend of mine has been practically living in our house for the past two weeks, because my fiancee has spent most of his time at work and I'd be home alone if she wasn't here. I started advertising fanfiction to her a few days back, trying to convince her that she really should try some PB fanfics, seeing that she was just as fangirlish as me, the only exception being that she didn't really know of any outlets for her obsession. ;) I think it was on monday when she finally sat on my comp and started reading some MiSa fics, and to be honest, she's sat there ever since. So, here we've been, sitting side by side on computers, silent, pretty much fully concentrated on reading fanfiction.

To be more specific about fanfics, I'm on a mission to R&R every fanfic by Foxriver Lady. I read a couple of her stories and that's all it took to get me hooked. That woman has a way with words, I tell you. (Check out her fics, if you know even something about PB - http://www.prisonbreakfic.net/viewuser.php?action=storiesby&uid=325 ) Hopefully the person in question doesn't mind me advertising her work here and think I'm some kind of a weirdo stalker, considering that I don't know the lady behind the nick at all. I'm just loving her fics.

So... life's been nice. We've spent it collectively in a pink fangirl haze and we'll try to stay that way as long as it lasts. Uni's gonna crash on us soon enough anyway.

PS. 3 days until I get my John Doe season 1. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. I should probably prepare myself by drinking a lot of water, so I won't drool myself into a state of complete dehydration during the first 20 seconds of the first episode. Yes, ladies, wet and nekkid Doms do that to you.

It's in our nature to fangirl. >.>

Yes, that is definitely true, as we have experienced together many, many times... ;)

I feel your pain about LJ. It took me forEVER to learn how to use it properly, but now that I have the hang of it, I feel pretty expert.

sierra_foxx is one of my best good friends on LJ (and she's coming to the States next week, and I'm actually going to meet her, I'm so freaking excited!). Her name is Sarah, and she will love your reviews. Don't worry. She has the Lincoln love flowing through her veins too.

Dom on John Doe....oh dear god. His hair! His beautiful hair. Just you wait. You will love every minute of his non-Lincoln-ness. As for his other films, they are all CRAP, really, Blade is the best of them. But he's so pretty, it doesn't matter....

I should probably stop over at Foxriver Lady's LJ and introduce myself to her too, she'll be getting familiar with me over the reviews anyway... I guess it's the Lincoln-love you mentioned that keeps kind of drawing me to you guys. I mean, who in this world wouldn't like to be surrounded by people who understand? ;D

As for you guys meeting - oh my god, you must be excited out of your mind, I'm really happy for you two! I know perfectly the feeling of making good friends through internet and how much it means/would mean to meet them in person.

Actually the John Doe download finished yesterday morning and believe me, when I say it took all my self-control to NOT start watching it immediately. I was just didn't want to watch it in the comatose state I was in yesterday - I wouldn't have been able to even produce fangirlish squees properly. So I waited. But today, oh today, today it's going to be me, the couch and John Doe all day long.

But he's so pretty, it doesn't matter....

The truest words ever spoken. ;D

How's the John Doe marathon coming? One of my favorite episodes is when he goes to the sperm bank. Have you seen that yet?

There is actually a convention of Prison Break fangirls meeting in Chicago/Joliet (where season 1 was filmed) on August 13-14, that's when I'll be with Sarah. But we're also going to be with pamalax (who actually organized the whole thing), happywriter06, chanchito_z (who writes amazing general Linc/Mike fics, BTW), miss_mazzie, gizzie_mcgee, and spoiled_andrea. I think that's everyone whose confirmed to meet up/go. I can't wait, it's going to be so much fun!
neiticoraneiticora on August 5th, 2007 09:26 pm (UTC)
Darn, if only I had entered this fandom earlier, I might have actually gotten into a plane myself and made my way to Chicago too! I've been planning a trip to US for a long time now, as I have some friends there too. You guys need to take pictures and keep the rest of us posted on what kind of fun things you're doing up there,

Actually, I should blame you for the John Doe marathon not really moving anywhere. :D Somehow I've always managed to get stuck reading fics that usually seem to be yours (with few exceptions of fics by Sarah)! I've taken it slow with The Incidents in the Life of Lincoln Burrows, seeing that it's so goshdarn enjoyable that I've read most bits two or three times by now, just to make sure I don't miss out on any delicious details.

I finished reading When Tenderness Rages for the first time just now, and phew. Well. Uh. Oh. What could I possibly say? The stories in that series are all absolutely fantastic, but this one was over the top! I don't think I'll ever be able to read any fanfiction again, because compared to the range and strength of emotions that that fic put me through, any other fics will probably just feel like pale imitations. Seriously, Candy - I don't even know what to say about that fic, I have no clue how to shower you in as much love as you'd deserve to be showered for writing that piece. How about I just shut up about that fic for a moment and try to calm my racing heart and blow my nose and all that jazz, and leave you a decent review when I've actually gotten back to the phase where I fangirl Lincoln and not just your writing. :D

Long story short - that fic really, truly, madly, deeply got to me.

Well, I am sorry that you didn't get very far on JD, but I am glad you having such a great time reading. I really loved When Tenderness Rages, when I first wrote it. It was my favorite in the series for a long time. Now I think I like the more recent one, Belief, more, but they are all sort of dear to my heart now that Veronica is dead. My L/V muse died with her for a long time. I couldn't write anything about them for the longest time, which is why I started writing L/S fics. It made me happy when I could write them again. Someday I'd actually like to finish the series, by bringing it up to the final break up before he was arrested for Steadman's murder...someday.
neiticoraneiticora on August 6th, 2007 07:10 pm (UTC)
Haha, no reason to be sorry, seeing that no matter whether I watch JD or read fics, I win either way.

When Tenderness Rages is definitely my favorite so far, no wonder that you loved it too. Let's see if I change my mind when I get to Belief.

Can't really blame your muse, I was shocked out of my mind when they killed Veronica. At first I thought it was sort of a hoax, when they didn't show her actually dying immediately (I was proven wrong like ten seconds later, but still). I thought it was simply too cruel, it's not like fate had been exactly gentle to Lincoln on other fronts of life, either. I actually still think that Veronica is far more irreplacable than for example Sara, considering the way L/V go decades back, whereas M/S only just met.

I would love nothing more than to see you continue with L/V... so let me know if there's some way to inspire you.

I honestly missed out on L/S chemistry on the show, I hadn't ever even thought about that pairing until I saw a bunch of fanfics of them. I read L/S and love it like I love any and all Lincoln-fics, but somehow that pairing doesn't feel nearly as real or moving to me as L/V.

Just another in a long line of statements that prove we are bosom friends. This is so true. Even the history between Michael and Veronica is interesting to explore in contrast with M/S since they just met. But that's not who the shippers globbed on to...so there you have it.

I may be able to go back and do L/V now, but I have several other stories I have to do first. So they will have to wait.

I honestly missed out on L/S chemistry on the show

They only have like 3 scenes together (all of which are nice) but I wasn't really looking for chemistry either, it was just once they killed Veronica, I started exploring the possibility in my head, and stories were born of that. It basically came down to me thinking about Sara being with the brothers and attraction sparking after the initial meet up. It was me being pissed that they took Linc's girl, so I took Mike's girl and gave her to Linc :D

This is really out of topic for the previous discussion, but darn I was sad when I noticed that you had messaged me in MSN the other day and I had completely missed you... and to make it worse, I had left my computer like 3 minutes before you had arrived.

It was me being pissed that they took Linc's girl, so I took Mike's girl and gave her to Linc :D

Way to get back at the writers. ;D

It was late one night when I had time to be online, but alas, you weren't there...

Maybe next time!

LOL fan!girlies after my own heart!! i am a self-proclaimed fic whore! i discovered it in my first fandom and latched on to PB fic as soon as it started! it's worse than crack i tell ya! i love it all!!! canon, AU, any/ all pairing....as long as it's well written, i'm reading! there are some brilliant authors in prisneyland! that said, there are some terrible fic out there too! {{{shudder}}}

i love a good angsty story. my main OTP is michael & dr. sara, but i'm NOT one of those batshitcrazy misa shippers! other pairings are just fine with me as long as the author makes it believable to me. example: badboy_fangirl's sweet misery. i never really thought about michael & veronica together other than 'big sister/ kid brother' kind of way. but SM totally blew me out of the water! hot, hot, hot & so believable! makes me need a cold shower & crave a cigarette and i don't even smoke!! LOL

if you or your misa lovin' friend need some fic recs just let me know and i'll hook you up!

neiticoraneiticora on August 7th, 2007 02:53 pm (UTC)
I never used to read this much fanfiction before - I mean, I've read some X-files, Star Wars and random others, but I never had this kind of drive for it, so PB is definitely different - Prisneyland's brilliant authors really got me.

I'm a sucker for angst too - can't get enough. As for OTPs, I don't really think I have one... I'm going somewhere between L/V and L/J, but maybe season 3 finally gives us Team Lincoln -girls a love story to remember, 'ship and write about. ;)

I'm working on reading through badboy_fangirl's fics, but since there are plenty, and I don't want to rush because her stuff is oh-so-good, I still have Sweet Misery waiting to be read. Now that I think about it, I actually realized that I haven't read any M/V stories yet! I really need to fix that.

Oh I totally know the feeling of needing a cold shower and a cigarette - and I don't smoke either. I watched Blade Trinity the other day and Dominic Purcell in that movie was something that really made me feel like moving to the North Pole for a week or two. :D

Actually, my MiSa loving friend could really use some fic recs! She seems to be really frustrated with reading through crapfics and trying to find the good ones, because there are soooo many MiSa fics out there. However, she's really not one for much angst - there can be some, but she wants stuff with a relatively happy ending, or just plain fluffy stuff. So if you happen to know anything that matches these qualifications, let me know!

And while you're at it, why not give me some fic recs too - I prefer to read Lincoln-stuff, but I'm just open-minded as you are, pretty much anything goes. :)
